Writing for websites

  • NSPCC advice for parents

At the NSPCC, the UK’s largest children’s charity, I’ve written and edited web copy aimed at adults, particularly those who are worried about a child and those who needed support with tricky parenting issues, such as bullying, online safety and behavioural problems.

As part of a million-pound brand campaign, my team created and updated NSPCC content on parenting advice, making it much warmer and more empathetic. A good example of this is the page on divorce and separation. I created copy that supported and sympathised with parents while also offering concrete advice they could use to help their children navigate this difficult transition more easily.

  • SEO copywriting for Croud

I worked with digital agency Croud and their client Regus, who wanted to use creative ways to raise awareness of their office and coworking spaces in the US.

I used Semrush to ensure I was hitting all SEO targets and using keywords effectively and naturalistically. I created several listicles that showcased Regus’ striking office spaces and their most impressive features while ensuring the articles would rank highly in organic web searches

  • Interviews for Stonewall

I conducted numerous interviews during my time at LGBTQ+ right charity Stonewall.

I penned an intergenerational Q+A marking the end of Section 28 about how LGBTQ+ education has changed in schools.

I learnt from LGBTQ+ parents about how they formed their families and their experiences since.

And in a personal favourite, I got to to ask Guggenheim scholar and feminist icon Alison Bechdel about the process of writing her latest graphic novel. Read the last one below.

  • Conversion Therapy case studies

I interviewed 10 LGBTQ+ survivors of conversion therapy over the phone and created long-form written interviews that preserved the speakers' authentic voice.

This work contributed to huge campaign to ban LGBTQ+ conversion practices, which the UK Government has now pledged to do.
